Supervisor
Vanessa Winbush Gatlin Purpose-driven, energetic, captivating and extra-ordinary in every essence of the word, Supervisor Vanessa Winbush Gatlin hails from Lafayette, Louisiana. Born to parents, late, emeritus General Board Member – Bishop Roy L. Winbush and Dr. Mae C. Winbush, she has emerged as one of the most impactful and productive women in the Church of God in Christ. The intensity of her heart-driven ministry is witnessed at two local churches: Gethsemane Church of God in Christ in Lafayette, Louisiana and the First Church of God in Christ in Crowley, Louisiana, where she serves as the ideal First Lady, supporting her husband and Pastor– the incomparable and visionary Bishop Alton Gatlin, who also serves as Jurisdictional Bishop of Trinidad/Tobago and former President of the International Sunday School Department for the Church of God in Christ, worldwide for twenty years and presently serving as Vice President of the Publishing Board. Working with this dynamic duo in ministry are their two sons – Brandon and Paul, daughter-in-love – Khalisha; and to keep them inspired - four lovely grandchildren. Vanessa Winbush Gatlin served as Jurisdictional Supervisor for the Women’s Department of the First Jurisdiction of Louisiana for almost twenty years. With creativity and cutting-edge leadership skills, she has built a model women’s department, collaboratively leading twenty districts in multi-faceted ministry. It was her outstanding work at the Jurisdictional level that opened the door of opportunity for her in our national church, where she has served as a member of the Executive Board (the highest board in the Women’s Department), and the champion, much loved Chairperson of the Circle Two Supervisors Unit, where over fifty Jurisdictional Supervisors were touched by her vibrant personality and benefited from her training, expertise and stellar leadership strategies and initiatives. Supervisor Gatlin was recently appointed by General Supervisor Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis in 2017 to serve as Annual Chairperson for the Women in Leadership Conference. She also serves as the head of the Jurisdictional Supervisors Training Academy. She has served as an Administrative Facilitator of Leadership Training/Support as a part of Mother Lewis cabinet and most recently appointed as Second Assistant General Supervisor of the International Department of Women. Committed and dedicated to the development and total health of women – focusing on mind, body and spirit, Vanessa Winbush Gatlin is the Director of Victorious Women of God Ministries, a thriving organization that seeks to empower women of all walks of life through community outreach and specialty/educational programs. She is a board member of the Acadiana Symphony and Orchestra in Lafayette, Louisiana. A representative for the Susan Komen Foundation. She has also gained national recognition for partnership with the American Heart Association’s satellite ‘GO RED” PROGRAM, impacting the heart health and awareness of more than 2,000 congregations in the United States. Before her appointment as Jurisdictional Supervisor, the phenomenal Vanessa Winbush Gatlin served as Jurisdictional Minister of Music and is credited for leading the Louisiana First Jurisdictional Mass Choir in a star-studded and chart-climbing recording, featuring her own hit composition entitled “I Belong to God.” Moreover, Evangelist Winbush Gatlin is noted for being a mighty prayer warrior and for delivering a relevant and life-changing word. She is daily on the Conference Line and seen on Facebook Live and You Tube sharing the Word and prayer Monday thru Friday which encourages, enlightens and empowers others. Taking ministry to even a higher level, she is a certified Life Coach, holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies and a M.A. in Christian Counseling from Atlantic Coastal Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Divinity. She is the author of Drop the Wall, Drop the Wall Study Guide, and The Hidden Secrets of Success her latest publication. She also has recorded several prayer CDs, The Ultimate Wireless Connection and Unplugged. Still at the top of the list for this beautiful woman of God is her love for God, her love for God’s people, and her ongoing seeking for God’s anointing, which has brought her to being recognized as one of our church’s most powerful and sought after evangelist and speakers for this day and time. |
